Cut & Connect LED Strip Lights
When using LEDストリップライト in projects, you almost always need to cut them to the right length. Sometimes you also need to connect multiple strips together. Fast solderless connectors make this easy — no soldering iron required.
This guide covers cutting, three types of connectors, and connecting to a LED電源。
Step-by-Step Guide
1Prepare Your Materials
Gather these before you start:
- LEDストリップライト
- ハサミ
- Solderless fast connector (match your strip width and type)
Connector types available:
- Wire-to-strip connector
- Strip-to-strip (middle) connector
- Middle connector with wire
- Sizes: 8mm / 10mm — for single color, RGB, RGBW, RGBCCT, CCT
2Measure the Required Length
LED strips typically come in 5-meter rolls. Measure the installation space carefully — under cabinets, along shelves, or around corners — and mark the exact length you need on the strip.
3Cut the LED Strip with Scissors
Every LED strip has cut marks on the PCB — look for the copper dots or a dashed line.
- DC12V strips: cut every 3 LEDs
- DC24V strips: cut every 6 LEDs
重要： Never cut outside the marked cut points. Cutting elsewhere will break the circuit and one section of LEDs will not light up.
4Wire-to-Strip Connector (Connect to Power)
Use this connector to link your LED strip to the power supply wire.
3 easy steps:
- Open the connector clip
- Insert the LED strip into the connector (copper pads facing up)
- Close the clip firmly to pierce the contacts
重要： Always match positive (+) to positive and negative (-) to negative. Reversed polarity means the strip will not light up.
5Strip-to-Strip (Middle) Connector
Use this to join two LED strip sections end-to-end without wire. The process is the same as the wire connector — open, insert both strips, close.
Ideal for running strips around corners or extending a run beyond 5 meters.
6Middle Connector with Wire
This connector has a short wire between two strip ends, giving you flexibility around corners or gaps.
Same installation method: open both clips, insert strips, close firmly.
RGB / RGBW / RGBCCT Strips: The same cutting and connecting method applies — just use the matching multi-pin connector (4-pin for RGB, 5-pin for RGBW, 6-pin for RGBCCT). Always align the pin labels (R, G, B, W, +) on both sides.
