LED strip lights are assembled with individual LEDs placed at intervals along the PCB. When the light is on, each LED acts as a point source — creating a visible “dot by dot” pattern. This is especially noticeable when:

• The LED density is low (60 LEDs/m or less)
• The profile is shallow (less distance between LEDs and diffuser)
• The PC cover is clear instead of frosted
• The strip is viewed at close range or from an angle

High-Density LED Strips for Dotless Lighting

The foundation of any dotless linear light is a high-density LED strip. Here are the most common options:

Dotless LED Neon Flex

LED neon flex is another excellent dotless solution. Made with extrusion technology and silicone material, neon flex wraps the LED strip in a continuous silicone jacket — creating a uniform glow just like traditional glass neon, with zero visible dots.

Neon flex is flexible, can bend at very small diameters, and allows you to create organic shapes, sign letters, and curves. It typically uses 120LED/m or higher strips, with both side-view and top-view designs for different bending angles.

How many LEDs per meter do I need for dotless?
