An LED aluminum profile (also called an LED channel, extrusion, or housing) is an aluminum enclosure designed to hold LED strip lights. It serves three critical functions:
- Thermal management — aluminum dissipates heat away from the PCB, extending LED life by 2–3×.
- Light diffusion — a frosted or opal diffuser covers the strip, eliminating visible dots and creating a smooth, uniform glow.
- Suojaus — it shields the strip from dust, moisture, impact, and accidental contact.
Why Aluminum Quality Matters

- Alloy grade — 6063-T5 offers the best balance of thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance, and extrudability.
