Modern hotels are no longer lit by visible ceiling fixtures. The best guest rooms, lobbies and corridors feel calm and premium because the light seems to come from nowhere — from behind wood, along stone, around a mirror, or out of a rounded ceiling line. That is exactly what we delivered in this recent hotel project using two of our most requested products: LED-nauhavalo for hidden linear glow and LED neon flex for smooth, bendable feature lighting.

The Project at a Glance
This is a modern business and design hotel where the interior team wanted a luxury, calm and seamless look. Instead of hanging lamps or bulky spotlights, the design brief called for indirect, concealed lighting that disappears into the architecture during the day and creates a warm, layered glow at night.
Two product families from Lightstec carried the whole scheme:
- LED-nauhavalo — hidden behind cabinets, under shelves, inside millwork and along the edges of stone countertops to create soft, continuous linear light.
- LED neon flex — used where light had to follow a curve: the rounded cove ceiling, the circular vanity mirror ring and decorative wall lines.
Every source was installed out of sight. Guests see only the light, never the product — which is exactly what a high-end hotel wants.
Where LED Strip Light Does the Work
LED-nauhavalo is the backbone of modern hotel lighting. It is ultra-thin, flexible and easy to hide inside wood, aluminium profiles or stone details, so the light looks clean and built-in. Here is how it appeared in this project.

In the wardrobe and media areas, we mounted the strip inside a slim LED aluminium profile so the line of light is perfectly straight and evenly diffused — no bright dots, no dark spots.

Where LED Neon Flex Bends the Design
LED neon flex is what makes a hotel feel custom. Unlike flat strip light, it can follow curves, wrap around corners and form continuous shapes with no visible breaks. We used it on the two most visible details of this project.

The cove ceiling was designed with a rounded edge, so a straight strip could not sit cleanly along it. Neon flex bent smoothly around the curve and delivered an even, continuous line with no hot spots or gaps. The same flexibility let us form the circular vanity mirror ring in the bathroom — a shape that would be very difficult with a rigid or flat product.
Why We Chose These Two Light Sources
Both products are low-voltage and extremely easy to conceal, which is why they dominate hotel projects. They differ in one key way — how much they can bend — and the table below shows how we decide.
| Consideration | LED-nauhavalo | LED Neon Flex |
|---|---|---|
| Parasta varten | Straight, hidden lines in millwork, cabinets, profiles | Curves, arcs, rings and continuous shapes |
| Bending | Bends on the flat plane only | Bends side-to-side and along curves |
| Light look | Clean linear glow, very discreet | Bold luminous line, decorative |
| Typical use here | Wardrobe tops, TV wall, counter slots | Cove ceiling, mirror ring |
For straight concealed runs we keep the budget and light quality of strip light. As soon as a design calls for a curve — a rounded ceiling, a circular mirror, a logo or a flowing wall line — we switch to neon flex. Together they cover almost every situation in a modern hotel without ever showing a fixture.
What This Means for Your Next Hotel Project
If you are planning a hotel — or supplying a hotel project — these two products let you offer clients a genuinely premium result with fast installation:
- Concealed comfort: light hides inside the architecture, so guests never see fixtures or glare.
- Design freedom: curves and custom shapes become easy instead of impossible.
- Low voltage, safe and efficient: 12V / 24V operation is safe near fabrics and wood, and runs cool.
- Consistent quality: every metre is factory-tested with consistent CRI and colour temperature.

FAQ
Can LED strip light be hidden inside wooden millwork and cabinets?
Yes. LED strip light is only a few millimetres thick, so it fits easily inside a slim channel or aluminium profile mounted to the top or underside of cabinets. It stays completely hidden while giving an even line of light.
Is LED neon flex suitable for indoor hotel ceilings?
Yes. Indoor LED neon flex is lightweight, flexible and designed for continuous indoor use. It follows rounded coves and curved ceilings without visible joints, and it runs cool on low voltage.
How do I choose between LED strip light and LED neon flex for a hotel?
Use LED-nauhavalo for straight, concealed linear light; use LED neon flex whenever the design needs a curve or a continuous luminous shape. Most hotels use a mix of both.
Johtopäätös
This hotel project is a clear example of how two simple, flexible products — LED-nauhavalo ja LED neon flex — can replace a whole wall of visible fixtures and still deliver a warmer, more premium guest experience. Hidden behind wood, stone and ceiling curves, they turn ordinary rooms into calm, designed spaces.
